Vacation!

Hey everyone, It is Katie! Henry is snoozing away after a busy week of vacation and having guests at our house! On friday night we had some of scotts friends from college come down to spend the weekend here. We went to Lake City and played in the water, which Henry loved even though the water was quite gross and very wavy henry thought it was fabulous! He is definetely a water baby! Those guests lef ton sunday morning and I packed our bags to head up north to go camping with Bonnie, Randy, Grandma and Grandpa Morgan. We camped at Temperence River State Park, which was about an hour and a half north of Duluth. It was beautiful! We had fabulous weather and great company! On Monday when we woke up it was kind of cloudy so we decided to head to Grand Marais for a bit to go to the little shops, which was great. We did find a few cute things to bring back of course! And some fudge! That afternoon Henry and I went for another walk and the boys went fishing on lake superior (I think they caught a few fish, enough to make them happy)! Then we ate and hung around the campfire! It was fabulous! Then on Tuesday the weather was PERFECT! So Henry and I went for a nice long run and walk in the morning and then when we were eating breakfast we all decided to go for a 6 mile hike up to the top of Carlton Peak, which was supposed to offer a beautiful lookout over Lake Superior. So I opted to carry Henry up the Peak and man it was a challenge! Byt he top I was ready for a break! He was not that heavy on my back but it is just scary because we were climbing up lots of rocks that were a bit slippery or loose and I constantly feared I might fall! But Henry was awesome and enjoyed the hike I think! Once up on top we had amazing views! It was well worth the work! When we got back we were all pretty exhausted so we headed down to the lake and put our feet in the freezing cold Lake Superior water! Henry loved it, he thought it was great and wanted to put his whole body in! Crazy Boy! On Wednesday, our final day up there we had a nice relaxing morning, got things packe dup and around noon headed into Duluth to go to those little shops, eat some more fudge and ....if you go to Duluth you have GOT to go the Rocky Mt Chocolate shop..i think that is what it is called! but they have like 50 different types of caramel apples...amazing...I had a caramel apple dipped in choc. and rolled in snickers! SO yummy! And there fudge is pretty amazing as well! Then we ate at Grandmas Rest. and watched a 1000 ft boat leave the canal. It scared Henry to pieces, he could not hold on tight enough! Overall, we had an awesome vacation! But as always it was really nice to get home last night and henry really enjoyed playing with all of his own toys! Hope you all had a good week, love Scott katie and Henry
